We
had a group of 22 people travel on the Carnival Destiny, venturing to
the Southern Caribbean. Eleven from the group were first time cruisers
and vowed to cruise again. Spending Thanksgiving Day in 90-degree weather
was wonderful and having someone else prepare the dinner was even better. Twelve people in the group elected to spend an extra night or two in San Juan before the cruise departed. I would highly recommend it. San Juan is a very interesting island to explore, not to mention the ease of leisurely boarding the ship was an advantage too. The itinerary was spectacular with stops in St. Thomas, Martinique, Barbados and Aruba. The water is an unbelievable shade of turquoise and the beaches are the softest sand you have ever experienced. There are many shore excursions offered to help enhance your time in port. Some of the activities that were a highlight are: the famous Magen's Bay beach and fabulous shopping in St. Thomas, Calypso Party tour in Martinique, Sail Snorkel & Beach Adventure and Horseback Riding in Barbados and the Atlantis Submarine and Golf at the Tierra Del Sol in Aruba. Needless
to say, a spectacular time was had by all. Same time next year? Maybe!
