Since I have planned many destination weddings, I suggested a destination wedding in Mexico for my brother, Scott, and his now-wife Tonya. The happy day took place on the beach at sunset at the Iberostar Tucan/Quetzal Resort in Mexico on December 4, 2006.
Scott and Tonya had the perfect beach wedding that they had hoped for-white archways with flowers woven through and a Mexican Trio played to set the mood. An all-inclusive resort was the perfect option for the bridal couple and their guests. Everyone had plenty of time to take excursions to the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza and Tulum, and others rode ATV's through the jungle and along the beach or went parasailing. The wedding was beautiful and was the only wedding I have attended where all of the guests and the bride and groom were in bare feet. After the ceremony, we had a cocktail party on the beach with a full bar and appetizers of fresh fish, quesadillas and other assorted goodies. After a 4 course dinner, we all went to the disco, which we had rented out just for the wedding guests.
If you are planning on getting married, start thinking about a destination wedding/honeymoon! Call us at Classic Travel and we can do as much of the planning for you and your guests as you like! My new sister-in-law is very glad she did!
