No pressure, No problem!! That is what my husband and I heard daily when we spent our honeymoon at Sandal's resort in St. Lucia. Aside from being an absolutely beautiful island with large mountains, a tropical rainforest and sprawling beaches, the resort left us wanting for nothing! It all began when we were getting our transfer from the airport to the resort. Our driver could not have been nicer! The ride took about 40 minutes going from one side of the island to the other, but that gave us a chance to get a look at the neighborhoods, the banana plantations, the beaches, and the wonderful rainforest! The island mountain roads are very narrow and we were in a mini-van driving at about 50 miles per hour! I was a little nervous and when I said something to the driver, he simply responded with "No pressure, No problem!" That would turn out to be the theme of the honeymoon! Upon our arrival at Sandals our bags were immediately taken from us so that we would not have to lug them around any more! We were escorted into a conference room where we were given a glass of champagne and our room keys! (How nice) Once we got to our room my husband and I were taken back! It was gorgeous! It has a wonderful four poster bed, very nice island themed artwork, gorgeous tile flooring, and when I opened our patio doors the pool was right in front of me! There was even a steel drum band playing at the pavilion across from our room! We immediately changed our clothes and headed out for dinner! We chose to eat the buffet at the pavilion that night because we hadn't had a chance to explore our other options yet. The food was wonderful! There was fresh seafood, fruit, pasta's, steaks, and plenty of desserts! There are actually six restaurants at the Sandal's Golf Resort and Spa. The pavilion restaurant features international cuisine and is an open-air facility. It looks over the beautiful swimming pool and out into the sea. Only one of the restaurants requires reservations. That would be Kimono's Japanese restaurant. This restaurant was a lot of fun with chef cooking right at your table. It is important to make reservations for this as soon as you can because it is very popular. If Caribbean cuisine is what you are looking for then The Pitons Restaurant is where you will want to be! This establishment is also open air and overlooks the sea! The Arizona restaurant has a southwestern theme and serves steak, ribs, poultry, and other specialty dishes. This is always a buffet at night and during the day this is where you can go for your hot dogs, hamburgers, and French fries. It is also open late to serve pizza and other snacks! There are two gourmet restaurants for you to choose from. Armando's Italian restaurant and La Toc French cuisine! We were never lacking when it came to finding good food! The resort is full of activities! There are pool tables, ping pong tables, lawn chess, scuba diving, hammocks to just relax, a sports bar, two pool bars, two swimming pools, and plenty of games to play with the staff! I personally competed in a swimming pool kayak race with my husband and had a wonderful time doing it! If exploring the island is what you are interested in, that can be provided for you also! These tours are not included in your vacation and you pay for them when you make your reservation. You can choose from an open top jeep ride through the rainforest or a volcano! Four wheeling through the banana plantations is another option. Horseback riding through out the island and then ending up on the beach where you will eat and have a bonfire is also popular. There are probably over fifty different tours for you to choose from. Or, if you don't feel like leaving the resort, there is still plenty to do right outside your hotel room door! The
staff is wonderful and by the second day of your vacation they will
call you by name when they see you and greet you with a BIG smile! Ultra-All
Inclusive doesn't even describe the experience well enough! Anything
we needed was provided for us! The beach was wonderful, the food was
wonderful, and the people were wonderful! We could not have asked for
a better experience and it was worth every penny spent!
