After sending hundreds of clients and several groups to the Mayan Riveria in Mexico, the question was, what will become the next hot all-inclusive destination? The answer is Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic! If you like luxury resorts, endless white sand beaches, world class diving, championship golf, history and culture…this is the spot for you. The resort area of Punta Cana is relatively new with most hotels being built within the last five or six years. In the past, Punta Cana has been a favorite destination of European sun-worshippers but more recently Americans have discovered this tropical paradise. As a result, deluxe all-inclusive resorts have sprung up all along the 20 mile long stretch of Bavaro beach. When we visited Punta Cana we stayed at the five-star Paradisus Resort featuring all junior suite accommodations, ten restaurants, five bars, full casino and a swimming pool the size of a small lake. Like most all-inclusive resorts, practically everything is included in your package price. Add 24-hour room service, horseback riding and unlimited golf to the standard all-inclusive fare and you have the ultimate carefree vacation. The people of the Dominican Republic love Americans! With Spanish being the primary language, they really enjoy practicing their English with tourists (they actually speak more German and Italian). I find that this adds to the charm and international feel of Punta Cana. Here's a tip, Dominicans go crazy over two things; merengue music and Sammy Sosa. Mention either one and you will have a friend for life! In
Punta Cana they are taking the all-inclusive concept to new upscale
heights. You owe it to yourself to experience this unique Caribbean
destination!
