The past few years the Mayan Riviera, also known as Playacar or Playa Del Carmen, has been growing in popularity. Recently, I visited there for four nights and saw for myself what all the fuss is about. This Mexican destination has beautiful beaches, gorgeous resorts, blue-turquoise water, and great Mexican shopping. Everything you need to make a great vacation!
The location of the Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar is north of the Playa Del Carmen hotel-zone and sits alone. This, to me, was more of an advantage. First of all, this hotel was one of the first stops from the airport and the last on the return to the airport. We avoided all the other hotel stops the bus transfer had to make. Second, everything we needed was right there. The resort and pool area were huge with many activities to offer, even a kids-club for children over 4 years old. If we wanted to do anything extra there were a number of tour desks located right in the lobby area. The hotel even offers a free shuttle into Playa Del Carmen that ran throughout the day. We highly recommend the Mayan Riviera and the Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar Resort. Rates are approximately $1100 per adult for four nights including air and this lovely all-inclusive resort. Off-season rates may be less expensive. Call me to book your trip to this fantastic destination!
