Most airlines charge for checked bags on Domestic flights (including the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico) and each passenger is allowed up to 2 checked bags weighing no more than 50 lbs. per bag.
If you check in for your flight on Northwest, Delta, United, Continental and US Airways online at the airline website within 24 hours of your flight departure, you can pre-pay your checked baggage fees and get a $5 discount!
Checked Baggage fees on the above airlines are currently $15 for your first checked bag and $25 for your second checked bag IF PREPAID online at check in.
For customers who choose to pay for checked bags at the airport, there will be an additional $5 service fee. The cost would be $20 for the first checked bag and $30.00 for the second checked bag. So save a few dollars per bag when you check in at the airport!
